Botox® wrinkle reducing injections work by weakening or inactivating the muscles in affected areas, causing the lines to soften or even fade away.

Patient Testimonials

I'm really pleased I made the decision to have Botox. I've been thinking about it for years, and that frown line bothered me daily. I feel so much happier looking in the mirror and it's really changed the way I feel. AnnaLouise is so lovely, patient and professional and the salon is stunning and welcoming. An all round fantastic experience.

I was very nervous the first time I had Botox but AnnaLouise put me at ease straight away. She explained procedures thoroughly and had time for my questions. I'm so happy with results. My family and friends keep complimenting me on how well I look, yet they still have no idea that I've had anything done!

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the most commonly asked questions by our clients.

If you have a question which is not listed here send us a message or book a consultation.

Yes, AnnaLouise uses Azzalure®, which is Botulinum Toxin Type A. This drug is commonly known as Botox®.

Botox® works by blocking the transmission of impulses from the nerve to the muscle, causing the muscle to temporarily weaken. This means it can no longer contract, therefore the lines and wrinkles soften and smooth out.

Areas which are treated effectively with Botox® are frown lines; bunny lines, forehead lines and crows feet at the outside of the eyes. Advanced areas include bunny lines at the sides of the nose, chin dimpling, drooping mouth corners, gummy smile and vertical lines above the upper lip.

Botox® takes 4-10 days to take effect, and results last approximately 3 months. However with repeated Botox® treatments the facial muscles re-educate, therefore the results will start to last longer.

Botox® injections are likely to cause some discomfort, however this should be minimal as the needles used are tiny and the procedure relatively quick.

All possible side effects of Botox® are fully discussed during the initial consultation. The most common side effects of Botox® are local reactions at the injection site, and include redness, swelling, irritation, pain and bruising. Headaches are another possible short term side effect. More serious side effects include muscle weakness away from the site of injection, allergic reaction and eyelid drooping.

Botox® is not to be used during pregnancy, or while breast feeding. Other contraindications include neuromuscular disorders (eg. myasthenia gravis) or known allergy to Botulinum Toxin Type A.

The forehead muscle is responsible for elevating your eyebrows, so if this is treated in isolation it is likely to cause heavy brows and a tired appearance. To avoid this problem it is recommended to treat in conjunction with the frown area, as Botox in this muscle group will lift the brows to prevent any heaviness. A forehead treatment is therefore classed as two areas.

Yes, this area can very effectively be treated in isolation.

Most people start treatment when they are aged 30 and over, treatments below this age are assessed on a case by case basis. AnnaLouise does not treat under 18s.
